Opportunities to serve are moments to encourage others, share meals together, carry one another's burdens, grow in faith, deepen relationships and much more! Check out the events and ministries that are happening to see where you might use your skills and gifts to serve!

Year-Round

  • Encourage youth ages 11-18 to gain a better understanding of scripture, improve memorization and communication skills, and make great friends by helping to lead the Bible Quizzing team.

  • Assist with crafts and games and help kids in kindergarten to grade 6 to learn more about Jesus and the Bible at Club DJ.

  • Provide, organize and maintain resources for Christian growth.

  • Deepen community and encourage the faith of those in your Life Group by leading or participating in Bible studies, enjoying meals, having good conversations, and sharing life together.

  • Build relationships, foster faith and encourage other men by leading or helping to plan, organize and host men’s breakfasts, dinners, retreats and other special events.

  • Provide encouragement, support and comfort by committing to pray for others as needs arise.

  • Encourage and lift up an OAC youth by signing up to be a Prayer Pal and committing to pray for your youth Prayer Pal regularly. As a Prayer Pal, you'll receive the name and age of your youth Prayer Pal as well as specific prayer requests through a confidential envelope system.

Weekends

  • Prepare and serve coffee and tea to guests after the Sunday morning worship service and help to clean the kitchen and wash dishes.

  • Welcome others on Sunday morning, offer direction, and help connect first-time guests. Or, greet guests digitally as they tune-in online.

  • Teach or help in the nursery, tiny tots, pre-school or grade school Sunday school classes and join in praying for the children who come to KidZone

Seasonal

  • Help to arrange chairs and/or tables for special events and set up chairs for Sunday worship.

Serving Our World

  • Offer love, peace and strength to International Workers by committing to pray for them and communicate with them by e-mail and/or mail.

  • Our Benevolence ministry exists to help those who have fallen on hard times. Be it help with gas, groceries, or even a couple of mortgage or utility bills, we will do what we can to help.

  • Serve on a regular team filling bags with groceries for those in need, or serve on the Okotoks Food Bank Board as an OAC representative.

  • Build relationships with Christians and non-Christians, by making music with a Foothills Philharmonic Society choir (Chorus, Chamber Chorus, Vocal Jazz, Opera Chorus, Men's Chorus), or the orchestra. Conducted by Pastor Tim and Pastor Terry.

  • Plan events to inform others about what our global missionaries are up to, including Missions Sundays, and small 'Mission Fest' weekends, as well as brainstorm other ways that we can encourage  and connect with our missionaries.

  • Travel to Guatemala with a team to help with building projects, care for children and families, provide supplies, and encourage and pray for fellow believers.
