thinkChristian workshops

A key part of growing in our relationship with God is learning more about our faith. Think Christian is our church family’s way of helping people learn more about theology, the Bible, the history of Christianity, and the practice of our faith in the 21st century. We want to see Christians know more, think clearly, and live faithfully as a result of what they learn in these workshops.

Each workshop is approximately 6 hours long (9am - 3pm), and normally takes place on Saturday morning and afternoon. Workshops are open to anybody at all, and no prior learning or previous classes are required.

Feel free to come to every workshop, or just drop in on the ones that catch your interest. We have wonderful teachers from our own congregation, as well as expert guests who will facilitate each session.

Next Workshop:

Dr. Jo-Ann Badley will be a focused exploration of the Gospel of Mark. Students will learn about the content of the Gospel itself, but will also use Mark as an example of how to read New Testament books well. All ages and levels of student are welcome and will find the discussion valuable.

Presenter Info:  Dr. Jo-Ann Badley teaches New Testament and Theory of Interpretation. She is interested in what it means to read the Bible as scripture, both as a practical question for interpretation and as a pedagogical question for theological education. Her current research is on a Protestant theology of Mary, the Mother of Jesus.

Upcoming Workshops:

  • May 30 - "What was the Reformation?" (Dr. Kyle Jantzen)

More workshops to come!
